Thanks to the generous support of the Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation, the Library is providing a new service that offers live, one-to-one help from certified tutors online.

Just click the link above or the logo to the left. Enter your Library barcode number (on the back of your library card) and password/PIN to log on to this free service, from anywhere you have internet.

Students of all ages and job seekers can find the help they need by visiting  It has a network of over 2,000 certified tutors as well as career specialists who are ready to help.

  • Student Center
    Students in grades K-12, entry level college and adult learners can receive specialized one-to-one tutoring help in the areas of math, science, English, social studies and writing. Professional tutors are available online from Noon to Midnight through any internet-enabled computer or mobile device. Spanish-speaking tutors are also available from 1:00 p.m. to Midnight.
  • Career Center by
     Receive one-to-one, real-time assistance with your job search. Online tutors are available to help navigate online job sites, complete applications, write/review resumes and cover letters and even practice for an interview. You will also find thousands of career-related resources in the SkillsCenter. Career tutors are available online from Noon to Midnight from any internet-enabled computer or mobile device.
  • Adult Education Center by
    Going back to school? Preparing for your GED? Taking the Citizenship Test? Get the help you need from Noon to Midnight, 7 days a week by connecting with a professional, online tutor. offers one-to-one, real-time tutoring in math, science, English, social studies, writing, GED preparation and citizenship preparation. Each center includes real-time writing assistance from English tutors or career specialists.  Students and job seekers get immediate feedback, writing tips and strategies as well as proofreading. 

The Skills Center Resource Library offers Noon to Midnight access to thousands of resources including study guides, worksheets, videos and more in math, science, social studies, English, resume writing, GED prep, citizenship exam prep and more.
