Infants / Toddlers / Preschool

Baby Time (6-18 months)

This program introduces babies and their caregivers to the library through rhymes, songs and movement activities. The program is offered two Friday mornings a month, at 10:15 and 11:00 a.m. in the Program Room. No pre-registration required for this program, but space is limited to 10 adult/child pairs.

Time for Toddlers (18-36 months)

This program consists of short stories, songs, rhymes and fingerplays. We offer our Time for Toddlers program the first three weeks of each month, on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10:15 and 11:00 in the Program Room. No pre-registration required for this program, but space is limited. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early.

Story Time (Ages 3-6)

This program is designed for preschool children, and is held on Monday and Tuesday mornings from 10:30-11:00 a.m. and Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-4:00 p.m. in the Program Room. Programs include a combination of stories, flannel board presentations, and music.

Pajama Story Time

This special program is held on the last Wednesday of each month from 7:00-7:30 in the Program Room. Children are invited to put on their pajamas, grab a favorite stuffed friend, and come hear stories about going to bed. Families with children ages 2 and up are welcome.

School-Age Programs (September-May)

Junior Book Club (Grades 1-3)

A book club program that is designed for elementary-aged children in grades 1-3. The group meets twice a month during the school year to discuss different genres of books and read from a selection of titles. Pre-registration is required.

Secret Book Club (Grades 3-6)

Kids get to pick a “secret book” to read and review, plus a craft activity each month! The group meets twice each month, on Wednesday afternoons from 4:00-4:45 p.m. Pre-registration is encouraged. Sign up for the program and pick up a secret book at the Youth Services Desk.

Homeschool Book Club (ages 7-11)

A book club for homeschoolers. Read a book of your choice on a monthly theme and chat about it with other kids. Held on the last Wednesday of each month from 1:30-2:15 p.m.

School-Age Programs (Summer)

Summer Stars (rising grades 1-3)

A program for beginning readers that will meet on four Monday afternoons during the summer. Pre-registration required! Sign up beginning May 20.

  • Dates: June 17, July 1, July 15, & July 20
  • Time: 2:00-2:45 or 4:00-4:45

Battle of the Books (rising grades 3-5 and 5-8)

Children in each age group read from a list of books and attend meetings on alternate Thursday afternoons to discuss what they have read and to work in teams to answer questions about the books. Pre-registration required. Sign up beginning May 20.

  • Dates: June 13, June 27, July 11, & July 25
  • Time (Grades 3-5): 3:00-3:45 p.m.
  • Time (Grades 5-8): 4:00-4:45 p.m.
