KIDS' AUTHOR EVENT! CELEBRATE 'POET: THE REMARKABLE STORY OF GEORGE MOSES HORTON'

We'll be partnering with Flyleaf Books and The Sacrificial Poets to present an author reading and signing to celebrate the publication of "Poet: The Remarkable Story of George Moses Horton." 

In the nineteenth century, North Carolina slave George Moses Horton taught himself to read and earned money to purchase his time away from his master though not his freedom. Horton became the first African American to be published in the South, protesting slavery in the form of verse.

Special guests: The Sacrificial Poets. You can get a preview of the work here.

A movie for the whole family to enjoy!  The movies in this series are shown at 4:00 p.m. in Meeting Room B.  Join us for Strange Magic (PG) on Friday September 11.

LEGO CLUB

Join us for our kids club where we bring the books and bricks and you bring your creativity.  We'll start by reading a story together and then you get to build a LEGO creation inspired by it.
