Chapel Hill Public Library
A department of the Town of Chapel Hill
The Nonprofit Collection (NPC) offers unique research materials on a wide array of topics of interest to nonprofits and access to two databases, the Foundation Directory Online and Grants to Individuals.
The NPC is a member of the Foundation Center and its nationwide network of libraries, community foundations and other nonprofit agencies. It provides visitors with free public access to grantmaker and grant directories, books on fundraising, grant-writing and nonprofit management, and the Foundation Center's electronic databases.
The NPC print materials are located near the Reference section in the Library. At the Information Desk, you will also find staff to provide information about and access to the databases. The Foundation Center’s unique database Foundation Directory Online supports grant-seeking for nonprofit organizations. In addition, the database Foundation Grants to Individuals is available. - Note that these Foundation Center databases are available in-house only.
The NPC is available anytime the library is open. To schedule an appointment for an orientation to the collection, please contact Luba Sawczyn, Head of Reference (email or 969-2032) or the Information Desk (email or 968-2780).
