Did you know that in May 2018, the library installed a Purple Air sensor to monitor outdoor air quality – specifically particle pollution – and that anyone can view real-time sensor data online?

In this session presented by the UNC Center for Environmental Health and Susceptibility, UNC air quality researcher William Vizuete, PhD, will tell us how to find, interpret and use PurpleAir data to understand our local air quality. Dr. Vizuete will answer other questions you may have such as:
• What is particle pollution?
• When do I need to be concerned about particle pollution and why?
• What is the AQI?
• Where else can I go to learn more about local air quality?

The UNC Center for Environmental Health and Susceptibility is funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (Grant P30 ES010126).
