In July, Chapel Hill Public Library is hosting a series of events commemorating the moment, 50 years ago, that the Apollo 11 Space Mission first landed people on the moon. There are programs and activities for both kids and adults. This page includes adult oriented programs. We’re also hosting a movie series.

    From 1960 - 1975, NASA sent 62 of its astronauts to Morehead Planetarium in Chapel Hill to learn celestial navigation. Learn how the techniques and knowledge the astronauts gained saved their lives on every mission, from Mercury through early space shuttle missions.
