We'll be working with students on a Planning-in-the-Classroom exercise that demonstrates the importance of downtown in the life of a community, and lets students plan their own downtown block. The tree in our lobby has ideas, from board books to picture books and novels for teens, though any of these ‘Best of Books’ would be great. Please bring them in by December 1!
  • Holiday Parade

    - The Chapel Hill – Carrboro Holiday Parade will take place from 10am-Noon. A favorite Chapel Hill tradition, the annual parade showcases the rich diversity of our community. From marching bands to business leaders, youth groups, and creatively decorated floats, this event puts everyone in a festive mood. At 10am, the parade begins in front of Morehead Planetarium and progresses through Chapel Hill on Franklin Street, ending around noon at the Carrboro Town Hall. Music, live interviews, and commentators will be broadcast both on television and by live public address on the street. Don't miss the elves, reindeer, candy canes and of course, Santa Claus riding his sleigh!

    There will also be a Glow in the Dark climb from 7:00pm-9:00pm

    Local organizations and individuals (like your favorite library) will decorate their vehicles and provide pre-packaged candy for trick or treating for youth in the community. Don't forget your costumes!

    The Trunk-or Treat portion of the evening begins at 5pm and will end at 6:30pm.
