Outdoor Story Time

20-30 minutes of stories, songs & early literacy activities just outside the library

  • Pre-registration is required!
  • Masks are encouraged for everyone 5 and up.
  • Spots are limited to allow for social distancing.

    Reúnete con nosotros para contar historias y cantar, en la parte de atrás de la biblioteca, en el patio donde están las estatuas de animales.

    Join us for stories and songs in Spanish on the back patio by the animal statues. Tuesday, September 28 at 4pm.

    Sunday STEAM

    We're are now offering some outdoor, in-person STEAM programming for kids. We'll be keeping group size small, wearing masks, and social distancing. Meet us at 3pm on select Sundays.

  • Science in the Stacks

    Do you ever wondered why leaves change color each fall? Our October partnership with UNC Science in the Stacks will be an in-person experiential program to find out why! Sign up to join us at 3pm on Sunday, October 17 for a presentation, and an activity.

    Materials we'll be using: coffee filters, markers, pipettes or a small spray bottle, crayons (red/orange/yellow/green), coin, and printed coloring sheet. (Materials provided at event).

    Outdoor StoryWalk

    In honor of National Wilderness Month, September's featured book in Pritchard Park is Hiking Day by Anne Rockwell. Visit anytime this month and read the story starting at the first post across from the lower level parking lot.
